Paul earned his Bachelor of Science at OSU in 1976 and
started, in 1978, to provide tax and accounting services to
individuals and small businesses while working at two
local CPA firms in Portland Oregon.
Paul Abbott CPA began as a sole practitioner in 1990.
Most of Paul’s clients have a connection to southeast
Portland even though they may now live in California or
Washington. A typical client is a small business owner or
an individual who owns real estate. The diverse client
base includes individuals from accountants and architects
to a welder and a couple writers. Clients range in age
from 7 years old to about 20 individuals in their 90’s.
Paul says, “The main reason I enjoy this business is
getting together with everyone, usually once a year, and
hearing about what they have been up to. Finances and
income taxes enter into people’s plans for children,
college, investing, retirement and passing on an estate.
There are usually a few vacations to talk about along the
way too.”
