What you can provide prior to tax season:
The best way to start the process is to provide us with a
copy of your previous year’s federal state and local income
tax returns as soon as you determine you would like us to
prepare your returns. These prior year returns are entered
in our computer system in order to compute any carryovers
and refunds that may impact the current year.
Additionally, we need a copy of your detailed depreciation
schedules for both regular and alternative minimum tax
purposes. The detailed depreciation schedules are
generally not included in the prior year’s tax return copies.
You probably need to ask your former accountant for copies
of these.
